About us
Education
Israel Life Saving Federation is dedicated to preventing drownings by raising awareness of and teaching water safety and life-saving skills for all people over the age of 7. Our surf rescue classes are open to children, teens and adults on several beaches along Israel's coast during the swimming season. ILSF is also lobbying Israel's government to improve water safety education in schools.
Surf life saving
Our water safety volunteers are active members of the water safety teams at many of Israel's premiere swimming competitions, and also keep the participants in our own courses safe while they learn. Our volunteers hope to be able to offer their services to all of Israel in the near future - ILSF is working with the Interior Ministry to make civilian surf rescue beach patrols a reality in Israel, as they are in many other countries.
Sport and fitness
Surf life saving is an international movement and sport. Israel Life Saving Federation hosted the Maccabiah's first-ever surf life saving competition in July 2022, with international delegations from around the world.
Community building
ILSF is a non-profit organization committed to reducing drownings and saving lives across all sectors of Israeli society. We seek to work with all communities and ethnicities in Israel in order to change perceptions of what constitutes safe beach behavior. The organization is dedicated to building national and local communities of volunteers and leaders who can advance aquatic rescue, marine environment education, water sports competitions and leadership programs. ISLF prioritizes diversity.
