Volunteers from the Israel Life Saving Federation joined the water safety teams at several Shvoong swimming events along Israel's coasts, watching over hundreds of swimmers at open-water swims.
Our volunteers woke up before sunrise in order to head onto the water at Beit Yannai and Olga beach, Hadera in the early morning light.
Swimmers swam in multiple heats and events at some of Israel's most beautiful coastal nature reserves, with ILSF volunteers on rescue boards accompanying them along the courses in the Mediterranean Ocean.
Volunteers aided and rescued dozens of swimmers at each event.
