Israel Life Saving Federation water safety volunteers headed out onto the water of Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) in November, 2021, as part of the water safety team for Israel's first-ever Ironman event, in Tiberias.
A dozen ILSF volunteers on rescue surfboards were an active part of the safety effort, alongside Magen David Adom, Israel Police and kayakers.
ILSF played an integral part in safeguarding the 2,000 athletes participating in the Ironman, and carried out many of the more than 100 assists and saves on the water. All athletes made it safely ashore that day.
