ILSF releases 2022 events programming

Updated: Feb 22, 2022

ILSF is pleased to announce an expanded lineup of courses and activities for the 2022 swimming season. Activities will be offered on beaches along Israel's Mediterranean coast, including Ashkelon, Tel Aviv, Herzliya, Jisr al-Zarqa and Dor.

Four two-day surf lifesaving courses are planned for adults, starting on March 25 and running through July. Courses will offer water safety certification. Courses include 14 hours of instruction split across two consecutive Fridays, and will qualify participants to serve as water safety volunteers at ILSF activities, including classes for children and as part of safety teams for national swimming competitions. The starting dates of courses are March 25, April 29, June 10 and June 24.

In addition, ILSF will be holding biweekly training sessions for volunteers who wish to undergo Bronze Medallion certification in order to become internationally certified under the International Life Saving Federation. Training and fitness sessions are open to the public and will be held on beaches in Tel Aviv and Herzliya on Tuesday and Friday mornings, starting April 5, 2022.

Our offerings this year also include two two-day Passover camps for children ages 7-16. Camps will be held between April 10-14,2022. Children may sign up for a two-day session in Herzliya or a two-day session on Dor Beach.

ISLF will also be sponsoring weekly training sessions for participants on Israel's first-ever Maccabiah surf rescue exhibition team, in advance of the Maccabiah games in July. ISLF is hosting the first-ever Maccabiah surf rescue competition, which will be held on Poleg beach in Netanya on July 21-22, 2022.

Registration for classes and events will open within the coming weeks. The full and updating schedule can be found at our classes and events page.
