July 2023 Adult Water Safety and Surf Rescue Course - Zikim (South)

A fun-filled dynamic surf rescue course for adults of all ages.

The course will be held in three sessions on Zikim beach, southern Israel, plus one session on Zoom.

Participants will learn:

• 🌊 Ocean swimming
• 🌊 Rescue skills
• 🌊 Board rescue
• 🌊 Tube rescue
• 🌊 First aid and CPR
• 🌊 Life saving sports
• 🌊 and have loads of fun

Learn basic ocean awareness and safety, which includes both basic ocean swimming and surfing as well as an introduction to ocean first-aid and rescue skills. 

Participants who complete the full course will receive a Surf Rescue Certificate. 

This is the course for volunteers who want to participate in the water with our various activities, including weekly ocean workouts for adults, water safety at open-water swims around the country, and assisting in the water at our other classes such as camps for children. 

As Israel's member of the International Life Saving Federation, our program is based on the internationally acclaimed Australian surf lifesaving model for water safety education and surf rescue skills.

Prerequisite: All participants must be able to swim 200 meters in 5 minutes or less, and float for three minutes.

July 5 (Wednesday): Class on Zoom

July 9 (Sunday): Zikim beach

July 12 (Wednesday): Zikim beach

July 19 (Wednesday): Zikim beach

Beach sessions are from 4 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

All 3 sessions are required to receive the certificate.
