More than 50 South American teens on gap-year programs in Israel completed Israel Life Saving Federations’ surf rescue certification on Herzliya’s Acadia beach in October and November.
The teens, all 18-year-old participants in Maccabi World Union-Yachad’s year-long program, each dedicated two weeks to learning surf rescue skills and sports.
Participants learned to swim in the surf, rescue their friends with tubes and boards, and participated in relays in the water and sand.
