Colin Bloch

At a young age, Colin attended Habonim Camp in the Shtilim group, became friendly with the lifeguards and decided then, that one day he will return to camp as a lifeguard.

Growing up in Durban, from a young age Colin was body surfing, belly boarding and back then, Nippers Surfing had yet to begin, and joined Durban Surf Life Saving Club as a Junior.

Qualifying as a lifeguard in 1966, participating in many competitions for the Durban Surf Life Saving. Colin lived his dream and returned as a lifeguard at 2 Habonim Camps and worked on Durban beaches as a volentary lifeguard.
